Field Trips

2016 Field Trip season is under way. Please contact Wanda Turcotte to sign up for trips. Club membership required.

*Club members will need to login to view this information.

For those of you have not JOINED OUR CLUB, we try to protect the land owners by not giving out information about all of our field trips to the general public. However, if you would like to join us on July 16th, 2016 at Mount Apatite, we will be hosting a field trip where members may bring non-club guests and the public is welcome. It is a good time to see what our club is all about.

Hi Wanda,

I could not figure out how to take the survey.

Club website developer here... Yes, I suspect I may not have setup the proper roles and permissions on our website polling/voting module I am setting up. It is sort of a test to experiment with voting functionality on the site. I will probably work on it and restart it again next week. I have been working with Wanda all spring and summer to assist her with the fieldtrips reservation system I created for the club. Club members should be aware that we have a lot setup in the back end of our website to allow all of us officers to collaboratively manage club membership, fieldtrip event management and show marketing. Thank you for reporting what you observed. With your help I can better design a better online experience for club operations. I wish to hear from more club members on how the site works on computers, tablets, phones or whatever internet connected device you are reaching us with.

I thought Mt. Apatite is owned by the town of Auburn,ME. I've always known it to be open for mineral collecting with out any fee being charged?

Mt Apatite has several quarries; the part behind the National Guard facility is open to the public; however; there are several quarries in the same general area which are on privately owned properties. Prospecting there is subject to the owners. More info on Mindat; under Mt Apatite.

Wanda,  Gordon Snow and I would like to go on the field trip to Georgetown. When and where do we meet? I tried your phone number listed with the directors, but was told it was incorrect. Lucy Wendell-Thorpe
